CTE Teacher

I manage Springs Charter Schools Internship/Work Experience Education (WEE) Program:

  • Internship (EWEE) 1 and 2
  • Internship/Work Experience Ed (GWEE) 1 and 2

Industry Experience:

I owned and operated my own portrait studio with my husband for more than twenty years. Our studio did mostly portrait photography specializing in high school seniors, families, children, Mommy and Me (Infants) and weddings. We had the privilege of seeing our community grow up through the portraits we captured of the families that lived there. Many times, we would capture images of new parents that had once been in our studio as an infant themselves. Through this experience, I became a master photographer and experienced entrepreneur.

Why I Teach CTE:

I am currently managing SCS Internship/Work Experience Education (WEE) program. This program provides High School Career Coach to our students. I see a huge advantage for our students who get the opportunity to develop career-technical skills, professional skills and gain incredible experience through work-based learning. I see so much value in what we do to prepare students for their future. I am motivated each day by what I see our students doing, learning and discovering exactly what they are capable of doing with their lives. It is my pleasure to work with our WEE teacher to help our students build their futures.

Fun Facts

I went back to school to receive my degree in 2009 after my daughters had graduated from Springs Charter Schools. I was motivated by the experience I had homeschooling them through high school. I feel strongly about the opportunity that Spring Charter Schools provides families and wanted to be part of this organization in a professional way. I am truly grateful to be a member of the Springs Charter Schools staff and look forward to working with our school for a very long time.
