Education

I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I substitute taught for several years in Utah and California before getting my first teaching job at a private school teaching 2nd grade. After leaving that school I got a position at Palms Elementary in Perris teaching 1st grade and Kindergarten. I started at Springs in 2005 after I quit teaching full time to stay home with my first son. It was the perfect job because I could still stay home with him and make my own schedule with my families, and it’s still the perfect job 2 more kids later!

Favorite Hobbies

I really enjoy organizing and decorating my house, reading, working out, singing, and playing the piano. I also enjoy playing with my kids and spending time with my family, and traveling to Ohio and Arizona a couple of times a year to visit my parents and siblings and their children.

Favorite Books

I don’t get much time to read, but when I do I enjoy mystery novels. I also love to read magazines, as well as home decorating magazines.

Favorite Subject

I really enjoyed math in high school, and every once in awhile I get a feeling that I would like to take another Algebra or Geometry class at the community college, just for fun and to see how much I remember!

Fun Facts

I played the trumpet for 8 years and participated in concert band, marching band, jazz band, and pep band! Now I enjoy helping my 5th grader learn how to play my trumpet in his school band. I also was a cheerleader and had my most embarrassing moment ever as a middle school cheerleader – you’ll have to ask me about it! Some other fun facts – after I graduated college I was a nanny in New York for a year (so much fun!!), I love to play Scrabble (and I’m pretty good at it!), and I love to make lists and I have post-it notes everywhere!
