During the Oval Office tour, students will be given the opportunity to experience hands-on learning including:
- A film describing the obstacles our founding fathers over came in establishing our government.
- Tests and puzzles to challenge student’s knowledge of our government and its structure.
- Biographies describing the lives of famous Presidents.
- A detailed scale model of Capitol Hill including our famous monuments.
- Detailed replicas depicting the interiors and the House, Senate, and Supreme Court buildings in session.
- The Oval Office – the highlight of the tour.
- An interactive computer program that simulates a day in the life of the President of the United States. In this program a student can write a bill, balance the budget, nominate judges for the Supreme Court, do a press conference as well as learn about other important events that occurred during other presidential administrations.
It is like having Washington D.C. right in your own back yard!
Important Information:
- No late registrations or refunds will be processed after the closing date. No Exceptions
- Special Guidelines: Space is limited, first serve basis. No small children or strollers. Students and child guests must be within specific grade levels. 1 adult per Homeschool family.
- All Students must be accompanied by a registered adult through PayPal.
- Note: If you have multiple Homeschool students, each Homeschool student must be registered for all Field Trips using their own designated flex fund account. Any duplicate orders for the same field trip on one student’s account will not be allowed.
- Field Trip Photography Disclaimer: Please be advised that photographs will be taken at this event for possible use on the SCS website, marketing materials, and/or all other SCS publications. If you do not want you or your child to be photographed please advise the Field Trip Coordinator.
- How to Cancel: Forward your registration confirmation email receipt to field.trips@springscs.org with a detailed notation to cancel by the deadline date indicated on each field trip.
