The qualifications for Directors are generally as follows:
- The ability to attend at least 80% of regularly scheduled Board meetings and workshops;
- A willingness to actively support and promote the vision and mission River Springs Charter School;
- A record of non adverse behavior toward River Springs Charter School; and
- A dedication to River Springs Charter School’s educational philosophy and mission.
Nominees to the Board will be assessed as to their ability to maintain board confidentiality, comply with fiduciary standards, and keep the mission and vision of River Springs Charter School as a primary focus. Past employees who have received a disciplinary action from River Springs Charter School or individuals who have acted adversely against the interests of River Springs Charter School (as documented by a demand to cease and desist activities, letter of ouster, temporary restraining order, lawsuit, etc.) will not be considered to meet the above qualifications.
Any parent of a student of River Springs Charter School shall be entitled to nominate a parent, including him or herself, to serve on the Board.
Applicants must not be interested persons.
(a) any person compensated by the corporation for services rendered to it within the previous 12 months, whether as a full-time or part-time employee, independent contractor, or otherwise, excluding any reasonable compensation paid to a director as director
(b) any brother, sister, ancestor, descendant, spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, or father-in-law of such person.
