English Specialist
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English from UC Riverside and a Master’s Degree in English from California Baptist University. From 1999-2007, I taught English to middle and high school students at all levels including ELD, college prep, and advanced. I also enjoyed teaching 11th and 12th grade AVID students. In 2007, I was lucky enough to get a position with Springs working part-time as a Homeschool Education Specialist. I missed teaching English, so in 2011, I took on some extra responsibilities for the Instructional Support Department helping develop the English 1-2 courses.
Most of my free time is spent with my husband and two daughters. I enjoy being a soccer mom, helping out at my daughters’ schools, working out at the gym, and watching my favorite cable television shows with my husband.
I love a great series of books. For me, I have to get to know characters over a period of time. As a reader, I do not usually feel satisfied after reading only one book.
My favorite subject in school was English, of course, but I really enjoyed math as well. I had a difficult time choosing whether or not to become a math or English teacher. I also loved studying art history in college.
My dream job would be to be a profiler for the FBI or a cold case detective.
