Resource Specialist

Education

I will be married 30 years in 2015 and together we raised three wonderful boys who have blessed us with 7 beautiful grandchildren who we love spending time with. My experience as a Resource Specialist teacher starts with my own son who was on an IEP for his learning disability. I have worked in the Special Education field for over 25 years. This is my 8th year as a Special Education teacher. Along with my Special Education credential, I have completed my Master’s and PPS credential in School Counseling with a Autism Certification and a BSP specialist certification. I am proud to share my experiences with my students so they understand that they too can be successful! When I was a student in school, I was in an alternative program. I learned that I had a learning disability in my early college years. I used all my accommodations and resources throughout my education and my life to become the successful person I am today. I feel my experience as a parent of a child with learning disabilities, a student myself with learning disabilities, and special educator, all help make me a knowledgeable specialist in the field.
