Academy Teacher
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuropsychology from University of California, San Diego. I earned my teaching credential at California State University, San Marcos.
Camping and hiking in the wilderness; seeing live music with live dancing; reading The New York Times Science section on Tuesdays, walking each day with my favorite Pandora stations, reading great fiction and biographies.
My current favorite book is Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. My lifelong favorite books are The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Animal Dreams and The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. I love John Grisham’s legal thrillers.
I love history, especially the history of California and the United States. I love to teach math, and I love to read aloud great literature to my students. My favorite classroom read-aloud is The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks.
I love to travel; when I was 18, I traveled alone all through Europe with a Eurail Pass. I lived with my mother and grandparents on the top floor of Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel from ages 3 through 7 because my grandfather was the general manager of the hotel from 1930 until his death in 1968.
