School Safety and Risk Manager

Education

My experience with Safety began as a Site Facilitator in 2004 with Springs and became the Safety & Risk Manager in 2009. I received my designation as a Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) in 2018. I hold a School Security Certification as well as completing the ALICE Instructor Certification. I have completed numerous FEMA classes and CERT Training that help provide a safe learning and working environment for our students and staff.

Favorite Hobbies

I am a beach girl, a day in the sun, sand and water is the best day! I bike ride, fly kites and play bocce ball. European board games are a family favorite and love working on puzzles.

Favorite Books

I most love to read biographies and an occasional novel. Nothing is more interesting to me than someone’s story. Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis is a recent favorite.

Favorite Subject

As a Safety & Risk Manager, I can attend a variety of workshops, conferences, and training in my field. So I would say my favorite subject is Safety right now. Anything from Active Shooter, to Disaster Preparedness and I enjoy attending with members from my safety team here at Springs. One of my most favorite trainings was a 12 week Murrieta Citizens Police Academy with six fellow staff members.

Fun Facts

I have four grown children who I homeschooled through high school. I have six grandchildren who I adore. I have been married to the love of my life since 1982 and am blessed to say he is my best friend. I once placed a drunk driver under citizens arrest, the case went to trial, and he was convicted. I have backpacked through three countries in Europe with my husband and two grown children. I once was a chiropractic assistant.
