KEYS Teen Active in Civil Air Patrol

Alyssa Takeshita-Kaufman, 15, a 10th-grade student with the KEYS program, is active in the Civil Air Patrol at March Air Reserve Base and had the opportunity to ride onboard a KC-135 Stratotanker, which is used to refuel other planes in flight. Continue reading

Springs Charter Schools Expands into Former Riverside YMCA

When the first class of middle and high school students arrives at Springs Charter Schools’ new campus for the first time Tuesday, Nov. 29, they’ll see brand-new furniture, technology, and other amenities — but they’ll also be surrounded by history. The K-12 school, which has been based on Chicago Avenue for the past 2 1/2 years, is moving its Magnolia Student Center to the building occupied for more than 50 years by the YMCA. Jessica McIntyre, an ES with Springs, has joined in launching a Springs Thespian Society, an international honor society which brings actors of all ages together through conferences, training and events.
