Venture Online 6th Grader Competes in Rodeo

Venture Online student Gracie-Beth Sutton is an accomplished young equestrian. The 6th grader is a member of California Jr. Rodeo Association and California Jr. High School Rodeo Association, and recently competed in the CJHRA State finals where only the top 5 from each district get to compete against the best in the state.

She competed in team roping, breakaway roping and light rifle shooting, placing 11th in the State in breakaway roping.  She also competes in open rodeos, jackpot barrel races and team roping.  She is the San Bernardino Sheriffs Rodeo Jr. Queen.

Grace lives in Cherry Valley.  Her family has long been horse owners; she began riding at age three.  Today, she rides two to three hours daily, and owns three quarter horses of her own: Bing, Jenny and Millie.  Her long-term goal is to become an Equine Chiropractic Specialist.

Venture Online has been a good fit for her: “Rodeo is more than just a sport, it is a lifestyle.  Venture fits into this lifestyle with ease.”
The program frees up her daytime hours to ride and rope, allowing her to do her schoolwork at night.  Her family also travels frequently for rodeo; Venture allows her to do her work while on the road.
When she’s not riding horses, she likes socializing with friends and family and spending time with her dog Cooper.
