Ridge Durling, a 17-year-old in Springs’ KEYS program, is exploring a career in law enforcement through the Explorer Program in Menifee.

The program is offered by the Boy Scouts of America for ages 14-20, and takes prospective law enforcement officers on ride-alongs and to community service events and related activities to demonstrate what such a career is like.
Ridge said, “I want to pursue a career in the police department and help my community.  I am looking forward to having first-hand experience in the department.”
Ridge is a good student, maintaining a 3.5 GPA.  His favorite subjects include history and math.
He works out daily, and has swam and played water polo over the past 12 years.  He also provides volunteer tech support at The Center 4 Life Change, a non-profit drug and alcohol treatment program in Temecula (it was founded by his mother, Felicia Durling).
He began attending Springs a year ago so he could begin working.  He is employed part-time at RJ’s Sizzlin Steer in Murrieta as a host & busboy.
