Springs Community Invited to Participate in Operation Lunchbox

Operation Lunchbox is launching in January, reported Springs’ Safety & Risk Manager Jeanne Schaffner. Springs’ administrative offices will have collection buckets to collect donated food items for students who miss breakfast, or don’t have a snack or lunch.

All food needs to be individually wrapped and must not require preparation or refrigeration. Please be mindful of sugar content. All items will be distributed with food allergies taken in to consideration.  Food will be distributed in order of need. Requested items include crackers, pretzels, cheese & crackers, peanut butter & crackers, tuna & crackers, chicken & crackers, applesauce cups, Mandarin orange cups, fruit cups, cereal bars, individual size cereal boxes, milk boxes (no refrigeration), low sugar juice boxes, small water bottles, granola bars, individual peanut butter cups, trail mix, nuts, Cheezits, Gold Fish crackers, raisins, fruit roll ups, individually wrapped bags of popcorn, fruit leather, freeze dried fruit and dried veggies.
